Anne Blue Scholarship Fund

The Anne Blue scholarship fund was founded in 1993 to commemorate the life of Anne E.C. Blue born June 14 1956, died July 5th 1993. Annual bursaries awarded are for academic excellence and community work.

Beneficiaries: US Graduating High School students in Brooklyn. Guyana Beneficiaries: Primary school, the best performing St Gabriel's student at the common entrance examination. Secondary school, the best performing Bishops High School student at GCE examination and the Country wide best performing student at the CXC examinations. Collegiate level, the best performing second year law student at the university of Guyana.

Profile of Anne Blue: Schooling, Guyana: Saint Gabriels Primary School, Bishops High School. England: East Ham College, West Ham College, London Hospital School Of Nursing. USA: Hunter College, Hofstra University Law Department

Professional: Registered Nurse, Notary Public, Real Estate Broker, Mortgage Broker and US Attorney At Law.

Application: Guyana, The award will go to the student at St. Gabriel's Primary school with the best performance at the Common Entrance Examination. The Bishops High School Award is granted to a Bishop's High School student with the best performance at the GCE O-level examination. High Schools through out Guyana must submit the names of their candidates along with a record of the student's community activity to The Ministry Of Education before the CXC exam is held in order to qualify for this National Scholarship. The University Of Guyana has a committee which selects the best performing second year law student.

Fund raising: The Friends Of Anne Blue is the Fund Raising Arm of the Anne Blue Scholarship Fund. The sole annual fund raising event is a Gala Dinner and Dance. This year's event is scheduled for June 13th. at Glenn Terrace Brooklyn. To receive an invitation or more information, please call Ms. Hinds at 718-462-2020 ext 201.
